Easter Island Czars
Everybody tried to warn us, but nobody listened.
This panel makes my brain think of Johnny Quest

Cant help it.
The Black Ray plus Murderous Time Travel
This one pencilled and inked by Paul Reinman. I found it Fear #6…it was originally in Journey Into Mystery #66…who can find Satan in this equation? I didnt know too much about Mr. Reinman, but wikipedia did. You could see that here. Seems he was actually pretty prolific.
Also in Fear #6
John Romita challenges Kirby to a duel of stylized hands. Im a particular fan of the bottom two panels there, as well as…
…murder and time travel.
Haunted Midnight
Kirby and Sol Brodsky craft this tale of terror. With all the dramatic lighting and atmosphere you might expect a real stunner out of this. You might be a lil let down. These additional images from Monster Blog tell the tale quickly, all too quickly. So, spoiler alert, I suppose.
Now dont get me wrong. Thats kind of awesome. But not my favorite.
Nothing Can Save Them
This one I like mainly for the color choices that were made. Also the space suits and the horrified faces. And…
Martian KnockOut
Gil Kane brings you this solid gold cover. This is an instance where the old cover and the new really have nothing in common. Kirby did his own for Tales of Suspense
Kirbys is a lil closer to what lies inside…but only kinda. The Martian Who Stole a City! winds up being a great Monster story from Lee and Kirby, you may wanna run out to the ebay store and buy it all for yourself. Take a gander at these assorted gems:
Basically these furry aliens are collecting people, in incredibly subtle ways
This particular Martian collector is a sneaky, evil night terror. An all around menace. But when the hunter becomes the hunted….
…Kirby breaks out the best panel in the whole story.
Comparative Literature
First off, here we got the cover and the interior. Jack Kirby did the drawings for both of these. At first I thought that this was a new cover for the reprint, seeing how differently the ruler is portrayed, but the original, found over at MonsterBlog, proved otherwise.
Then we got this comparison combo. Again with Jack Kirby and the minor tweaks for revised covers.
just for clarity, Monsteroso is indeed straddling the UN.
The Invaders
The Last Laugh
KROGARR
One of my favorite Atlas Monsters is the Creature From Krogarr.
In the top cover, which is a reprint, Kirby’s horrified man, among other things, was replaced. Its been speculated that the replaced drawing was by Marie Severin.
More often than not I dont post too many images from a comic, but this one needs to be see in its entirety.
